Modern seismic data have become an essential toolkit for studying carbonate platforms and reservoirs in impressive detail. Sequence stratigraphy represents a new paradigm in geology. The principal hypothesis is that stratigraphie successions may be subdivided into discrete sequences bounded by widespread unconformities.
