Mechanical Properties of Molybdenum And Molybdenum-Base Alloy Sheet

Mechanical Properties of Molybdenum And Molybdenum-Base Alloy Sheet PDF Author: Robert Q. Barr
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Metals
Languages : en
Pages : 24

Book Description
The mechanical and physical properties of molybdenum and molybdenum-base alloys have been rather extensively documented in the past decade. Almost all of these data have been developed in connection with investigations of wrought bar stock; very little data have been accumulated on the properties of sheet. On the other hand, considerable interest has developed in recent years in the utilization of molybdenum and molybdenum-base alloys in the form of sheet products. This interest is concentrated on sheet of about 1/16-in. gage. This paper represents a summary of the several investigations that were initiated to determine some of the mechanical properties of unalloyed molybdenum and of three molybdenum-base alloys, processed to 1/16 in. thick sheet from vacuum arc-cast ingots.

Book Description
To aid in quick identification and easy location of specific technical data and information in the various reports and memoranda which have been prepared and distributed by the Defense Metals Information Center, as well as by DMIC's forerunner, the Titanium Metallurgical Laboratory, a classification by major subject matter was prepared. The classification covers reports through DMIC Report 193 and memoranda through DMIC Memorandum 183. (Author).

The Physical Metallurgy of Cobalt-base Superalloys

The Physical Metallurgy of Cobalt-base Superalloys PDF Author: H J Wagner
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Cobalt
Languages : en
Pages : 102

Book Description
A detailed picture is presented of the physical and chemical phenomena that affect the behavior of cobalt-base superalloys. Solid-solution strengthening is obtained from the high-melting metallic elements molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum, and columbium. These elements also participate in precipitation reactions involving their carbides. Precipitation of intermetallic compounds such as Ni3Ti is an important process in cobalt alloys containing appreciable amounts of nickel and titanium. The relationships among microstructure, heat treatment, and mechanical properties of the important commercial alloys are considered, and whenever possible, explained on the basis of the physical and chem cal processes that occur.
