This Book Examines the theological implications of the Hispanic sensus fidelium as expressed in religion popular, seeing it as a consensus that needs to be fully accepted for itself by the official church. It plays a double role as both a vehicle for the Christian faith in Hispanic communities and as praxis that helps Hispanics hold on to one of the key elements of their identity, namely the Christian Religion. It also examines the implications of diversity among Hispanics in the United States. There are two reasons why this immigration is different from those of the past: it brings a constantly renewing flow of immigrants from Latin America and the Caribbean and it is richly diverse with its differences and likenesses.
