The Ontario First Nation, Métis, and Inuit Education Policy Framework is intended to provide the strategic policy context within which the Ministry of Education, school boards, and schools will work together to improve the academic achievement of the Aboriginal students who attend provincially funded elementary and secondary schools in Ontario. The Ministry of Education has set the following goals to address the objectives of improved student achievement: a high level of student achievement, reduce gaps in student achievement, and high levels of public confidence. For each goal, specific quantitative and qualitative performance measures are provided. These ten performance measures will be used to gauge the success of the implementation of the framework.
