A large amount Of carefully prepared outlines are amongfhis manuscripts; but though, to such as were favored with hearing the full' discourses, these would help to recall the pleasure experienced when they were listened to, to all others, on account of their fragmentary character, they would be compara tively Of little worth. Essays and Reviews is a collection of seven articles that appeared in 1860, sparking a Victorian culture war that lasted for at least a decade.
