Se puede defender la educación como el principio básico para disminuir las desigualdades sociales. Pero no se debe mitificar, tal como hace la ideología hegemónica, contenida en el Consenso de Washington y en la teoría económica neoclásica, en el sentido de que la educación, por sí sola, junto con el ?buen esfuerzo? del individuo permiten la movilidad social en las sociedades estratificadas contemporáneas.
