To apolagize for this by develop ing the circumltances of the time and place of their compofition, would bezio Open 'wounds which have already bled enough. To thele circumfiances fome of their imper fefiions may with truth be afcribed; the great mais to the want of information, and want of talents in the writer. He had a few copies printed, which he gave among his friends and a tran ation of them has been lately publifhed in France, but with fuch alterations as the laws of' the prefs in that country rendered neceflary.
