Book Description
Have you ever complained about your coworkers? Ever thought to yourself, "How on earth are these people still employed?!" Well, try being quarantined with them during the COVID-19 pandemic. This collection of 145 misadventures during the pandemic of 2020 is a humorous look at what your coworkers can devolve into during times of crisis. The constant complaining, need to be the center of attention, and countless interrupted video calls are just the tip of the iceberg. From questionable wardrobe selections to potentially unsafe uses of office equipment, you won't stop laughing at the stories behind these two quirky coworkers. It just happens that these coworkers were the author's 2 and 5 year old children...Parents and working professionals will appreciate the relatable antics and brutal honesty these coworkers exhibit. While the pandemic surely did not impact what they displayed in the book (they would have done this stuff anyway), it did bring to light how staying at home with your kids full-time can drive you crazy most days. Trying to manage working from home, teaching a kindergartner, and being a full-time parent 24/7 is nearly impossible and it was these unique twists on office culture that helped the author get through these trying times. Buckle up for file folder full of laughs!

They say that every 100 years or so, nature throws humans a curveball in the form of a pandemic. The effects, challenges, and changes may not be the same, still, a pandemic affects us all. But soon, everything we are experiencing will be part of history. The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has not only slowed us down, but also changed the way we work, live, and plan for the future. Not only for the duration of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), Modified ECQ, or General Community Quarantine (GCQ), but for a very long time. The Quarantined Thoughts ebook project (formerly called Coronavirus Chronicles) was created to give people something to do at home during the ECQ in March 2020. Book Description
*This book is part of a SERIES and NOT a standalone.A gripping, friends-to-lovers-to-enemies, dark romance.New York City-not for the faint-hearted or the sweetest of souls. The last thing I expected was to be back in this city, after all these years. And I definitely did not expect to be back in this house, where it all started. I have spent years avoiding this place, and the cold hard reality of what happened here. But I have no choice. We are all quarantined together in this house. It took the end of the world, for me to come back here and face him.Milo Sinclair.Once my legal guardian and savior in life. The person who saved me from drowning in loneliness. Who gave me everything I ever wanted. But then he took everything away from me. Plus interest. He broke me. He will not break me again. This is a dark forbidden romance. It contains discussions about the pandemic, mental health issues, mature new adults. It also contains dubious situations that some readers might find offensive.Dark romance is subjective. Some readers have found this book to be a light read while others were sensitive to the material. Milo isn't a normal romance hero, and some might not consider him a hero at ALL. So, please don't read this if any of the above bothers you.Quarantined is book one of The Quarantine Series.

Stories from Quarantine

Stories from Quarantine PDF Author: The New York Times
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
ISBN: 1982170808
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 320

Book Description
A stunning collection of new fiction previously published as The Decameron Project and originally commissioned by The New York Times Magazine as the COVID-19 pandemic first spread across the world, from twenty-nine authors including Margaret Atwood, Tommy Orange, Edwidge Danticat, Rachel Kushner, Colm Tóibín, Charles Yu, and more. When reality is surreal, only fiction can make sense of it... In 1353, Giovanni Boccaccio wrote The Decameron: one hundred nested tales told by a group of young men and women passing the time at a villa outside Florence while waiting out the gruesome Black Death, a plague that killed more than 25 million people. Some of the stories are silly, some are bawdy, some are like fables. In March 2020, the editors of The New York Times Magazine worked to create a collection of stories written just as the pandemic first swept the globe. How might new fiction from some of today’s finest writers help us memorialize and understand the unimaginable? And what could be learned about how this crisis will affect the art of fiction? These Stories from Quarantine by twenty-nine authors vary widely in texture and tone. The work is a historical tribute to a moment unlike any other in our lifetimes, offering perspective and solace to the reader now and in the uncertain future. Book Description
In this book you will come to know my upbringing that details aspects of your son(s), brother(s) and nephew(s) life. An upbringing that maybe similar if not identical. This book tells the journey of a young teenager growing up on the eastside of Detroit. Poor, drug addicted Mother, an absent of a Father. Like so many of our Black youth today. An upbringing that pressured me into a life of drug selling. Then eventually an assault with intent to rob and assault with intent to murder. I was later captured and sent to the Michigan Department of Correction for 18.7 years of my life. This book will allow you into my 18.7 year journey as a prisoner. It will allow you to see the ups and downs and the good and bad that I had to struggle and cope with beginning at the age of 22. In the midst of a dark period in my life. I was able to find a life giving teaching that lead to my repentance from a criminal way of thinking. And the reformation of a criminal way of acting. The reader will see that there is an answer to the pain and struggles within our youth today. And that committing a crime, going in and out of prison, neither dying a premature death is not worth the value of their lives. If you are in prison then this book will let you see how I made it 18.7 years trouble free. I am one of those who was fortunate to make it out alive, well and with a sound mind. To let my young brothers and the world know. That its never too late to repent and reform, and to be a blessing to yourself, your Mother, your family and the world! --DONALD P. LONG
