Multiphoton Lithography

Multiphoton Lithography PDF Author: Jürgen Stampfl
Publisher: John Wiley & Sons
ISBN: 3527682686
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 408

Book Description
This first book on this fascinating, interdisciplinary topic meets the much-felt need for an up-to-date overview of the field. Written with both beginners and professionals in mind, this ready reference begins with an introductory section explaining the basics of the various multi-photon and photochemical processes together with a description of the equipment needed. A team of leading international experts provides the latest research results on such materials as new photoinitiators, hybrid photopolymers, and metallic carbon nanotube composites. They also cover promising applications and prospective trends, including photonic crystals, microfluidic devices, biological scaffolds, metamaterials, waveguides, and functionalized hydrogels. By bringing together the essentials for both industrial and academic researchers, this is an invaluable companion for materials scientists, polymer chemists, surface chemists, surface physicists, biophysicists, and medical scientists working with 3D micro- and nanostructures.

Multiphoton Processes

Multiphoton Processes PDF Author: P. Lambropoulos
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 3642702007
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 206

Book Description
The chapters of this volume represent the invited papers delivered at the 3rd International Conference on Multiphoton Processes (ICOMP III) held in Iraklion, Crete, Greece, September 5-11, 1984. The invited papers at a conference like ICOMP cannot possibly cover the whole field which has grown to immense proportions in recent years, overlapping with such diverse areas as atomic and molecular spectroscopy, plasma physics, nonlinear optics, quantum optics, etc. We believe these contributions represent that part of the research activity which has been attracting the most interest in the past year or so, as well as reviews of some of the more established topics. Even within this scope, and given the confines imposed by the fi nite duration of a conference, important and timely topics are inevitably left out. But then, there will be ICOMP IV. The collection of articles in this volume, combined with extensive ref erences to related work given by the authors, should provide an introduc tion to the major problems of the field and its state of the art. The chapters have been arranged according to thematic proximity, beginning with atoms, and continuing on with molecules and surfaces. This classi fication, however, would not cover all the subject matter even within the limited scope of the conference and of this volume.

Handbook of Biomedical Nonlinear Optical Microscopy

Handbook of Biomedical Nonlinear Optical Microscopy PDF Author: Barry R. Masters
Publisher: Oxford University Press
ISBN: 0198036825
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 895

Book Description
The Handbook of Biomedical Nonlinear Optical Microscopy provides comprehensive treatment of the theories, techniques, and biomedical applications of nonlinear optics and microscopy for cell biologists, life scientists, biomedical engineers, and clinicians. The chapters are separated into basic and advanced sections, and provide both textual and graphical illustrations of all key concepts. The more basic sections are aimed at life scientists without advanced training in physics and mathematics, and tutorials are provided for the more challenging sections. The first part of the Handbook introduces the historical context of nonlinear microscopy. The second part presents the nonlinear optical theory of two- and multiphoton excited fluorescence (TPE, MPE) spectroscopy, second and third harmonic generation (SHG, THG) spectroscopy, and coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS). The third part introduces modern microscopic and spectroscopic instrumentation and techniques that are based on nonlinear optics. The fourth part provides key applications of nonlinear microscopy to the biomedical area: neurobiology, immunology, tumor biology, developmental biology, dermatology, and cellular metabolism. There are also chapters on nonlinear molecular probes, cellular damage, and nanoprocessing.

Handbook of Nonlinear Optics

Handbook of Nonlinear Optics PDF Author: Richard L. Sutherland
Publisher: CRC Press
ISBN: 9780824742430
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 1122

Book Description
Examining classic theories, experimental methods, and practical formulas for exploration of the core topics in nonlinear optics, the second edition of this acclaimed text was extensively revised to reflect recent advances in the analysis and modification of material properties for application in frequency conversion, optical switching and limiting, multiphoton absorption, and electro-optic effects. Handbook of Nonlinear Optics, Second Edition contains additional chapters on ultrafast characterization techniques, laser flash photolysis, and the electro-optic effect as well as expanded coverage of nonlinear optics in fibers and pulsed two-beam coupling.
