Notre thèse de doctorat a pour objet l’appropriation d’une langue étrangère en interaction, dans le milieu institutionnel. Nous développons l’hypothèse selon laquelle durant un cours de langue étrangère en institution, les modalités de l’interaction expert / novice déterminent les acquisitions potentielles de l’apprenant ; leur analyse, devrait donc permettre d’en dégager les aspects plus ou moins facilitateurs. Nous avons choisi comme fondement de notre recherche la théorie de l’acquisition du langage et la théorie de la communication humaine, envisagées dans une perspective interactionniste. Notre démarche consiste à travailler à partir de corpus constitués d’enregistrements d’interactions verbales entre novices (apprenants, enfants) et experts (enseignants, parents). Cette recherche met en évidence la problématique commune et les interrelations entre l’acquisition de la langue 1 (la langue maternelle) et celle de la langue 2 (la langue étrangère).
