Book Description
This is a poetry book includes 25 poems and these 25 poems didn't just take my 25 days. They are my heart and soul. I have never been able to express my feelings directly but writing poems made me express them. Writing is a part of me and with each poem I write, be it for moon or the darkest nights I give a part of me to it which makes me whole. And irony is I hate nights and shadows lurking but they become magical to me when there is moon in it, be it crescent or full I love it in all its phases and darkness. Each poem carries different feel and a different story. It is my story and I want to make it yours. It is a blend of imagination and reality; darkness and light. The skies that are moonlit for me maybe are dull for you or you too look at the sky and get wooed by the beauty of constellations and moon.

Book Description
Spies, Supplies and Moonlit Skies, Volume II: The French Connection, April-June 1944: Code Name Neptune During the critical period of World War II leading up to D-Day the United States Army Air Forces activated the first Air Special Operations Group for clandestine activity against the Nazi enemy in Occupied Europe. While the daylight Bombardment and Fighter Groups of the Army Air Forces cleared the skies of Nazi planes in a brutal war of attrition before the invasion, the 801st Bombardment Group, on night operations from their secret base near Harrington in the United Kingdom dropped supplies and agents to the Resistance forces of Europe in preparation for D-Day on the beaches of Normandy on 6 June 1944. This is their story. A brief comment from a well-known author of 8th Air Force History, received on 17/02/2005 via email: Dear Thomas Ensminger, Yesterday I was surprised and delighted to receive the copy of your Volume II. What an amazingly comprehensive work this is, and it obviously took a great effort and much time to produce. It certainly is THE reference for Carpetbagger activities and finds a welcome place on my library shelves. Congratulations to you and your team for this superb contribution to the history of the Second World War and the sterling work of the Carpetbaggers. Sincere thanks, Roger A. The Great American Songbook
Author: Steven Suskin
Publisher: Rowman & Littlefield
ISBN: 1493070959
Category : Music
Languages : en
Pages : 295
Book Description
In an age of ubiquitous music and countless new songs releasing every minute, the Great American Songbook endures. After all, the Songbook—that sprawling canon of popular songs, standards, and show tunes from roughly the 1920s through the 1950s—is a foundational text of American pop music. Rare indeed is the song that doesn’t in some way draw on this magnificent corpus, and rare is the person who hasn’t heard at least a few of its most enduring melodies. Nonetheless, the Songbook is broader and deeper than most listeners can imagine, and on the margins, the question of whether this or that song should be included is the source of regular arguments among scholars and buffs alike. Attempting to plumb its depths can be a daunting prospect. Enter Steven Suskin, who has been writing about music since the days that Rodgers, Arlen, and Berlin still roamed the streets of Manhattan. In this carefully curated and cheerfully opinionated guidebook, Suskin surveys 201 of the most significant selections from the Songbook, ranging from celebrated masterpieces to forgotten gems. Year by year, he puts songwriters and their contributions in their context, and explains what makes each song such a distinctive treat—whether felicitous melody, colorful harmony, compositional originality, or merely the sheer, irreducible joy of listening to it. Old and new favorites await all readers of this painstakingly compiled, enthusiastically written catalog.

Listen to the Silence
Author: Spencer L. Gray
Publisher: Balboa Press
ISBN:
Category : Body, Mind & Spirit
Languages : en
Pages : 102
Book Description
Emotions are the language of Spirit. When emotions are felt, throughout your entire being, they’re received as messages and miracles. Learning to tune in to feelings is key to connecting to gratitude and unconditional love. Spencer and Gina know that the bond between a mother and her child never ends. The grateful connection and unconditional love they share lasted even after Spencer transcended his body at age twenty-three. When Spencer’s messages—“Spencpirations”—began coming into Gina’s awareness soon after he transcended, she knew their wild ride together was continuing with passion and exploration! Without his body, Spencer gained access to an infinite source of songs, artists, and lyrics and soon began to send daily messages through music, poetry, orbs of light, numbers, or simple words. The “Spencpirations” evolved into inspirational, brilliant ideas and words of unconditional love coming through loud and clear. Now, mother and son want to teach others how to “listen to the silence” to receive messages and miracles that will keep you connected to your Spiritual Beings always and in all ways. It is possible to have a meaningful relationship with all silent ones who are in physical and Spiritual form. Wisdom is found within the emotions that are shared between silent communicators and those who care enough to listen ... to the silence.

A Remnant of Time
Author: Maharaj Kaul
Publisher: iUniverse
ISBN: 1491753927
Category : Poetry
Languages : en
Pages : 52
Book Description
In A Remnant of Time, his fourth collection of poetry, Kashmiri American poet Maharaj Kaul continues his exploration of the elements that make the inner life of a human being. These verses hold that the journey of human life, as practiced in the age of technology, is greatly hindered by modern culture. Kaul holds that humanitys souls are tarnished by stress and by demands on their energy and time. We have grown lonely as our contact with others is reduced and our family relationships become less than ardent. This collection of poems reflects the inner emptiness that humanity experiences while in the lap of material security and considers the human condition and the search for human values. It also expresses Kauls deep love for his native Kashmir. A Remnant of Time conveys that we must resist the inhuman thrust of materialism and technology and instead preserve the grandeur of our souls, the gifts given to us by nature as we arrived in the world.
