Zu tun haben. Das Versmaß wie schon Beal hervorhob ist wechselnd und nur in einigen Kapiteln dem des Fo-se-hing-tsan gleich. Die Titel der Kapitel stimmen nur teilweise überein; wo sie übereinstimmen, ist doch der Inhalt sehr verschieden. Die gleichen Ereignisse im Leben von Buddha werden in verschiedener Weise berichtet, häufig in anderer Reihenfolge. Auch der Stil scheint mir verschieden geartet zu sein. Das mag einerseits seinen Grund in der un gleichen Ausdrucksweise der beiden indischen Originaldichter haben, an derseits auch in der Fähigkeit der Übersetzer. Dharmaraksa war Inder, Pao-yun war Chinese. Das Chinesisch von Pao-yun scheint mir besser die Sätze sind klarer gegliedert, die Sprache ist einfacher, der Bau der einzelnen Verse und Strophen konsequenter als bei Dharmarak;a.
