No se trata de un temario oficial ni de un manual de academia, sino de un complemento a ese material.Cuando comencé a estudiar para las pruebas de acceso, me encontré con libros de más de 500 páginas, densos de leer y con más información, a mi parecer, de la que necesitaba para el estudio de tanta materia. Con intención de recoger en un documento las partes más importantes según mi criterio, comencé a redactar una serie de apuntes que me ayudasen a realizar un repaso rápido de la materia que estaba estudiando.La gran inversión de tiempo que realicé para lograr el pequeño libro de apuntes que hoy tienes entre tus manos, me llevó a pensar que a más gente le seria de ayuda disponer de este material. Es muy complicado viajar en metro o autobús con un volumen de 500 páginas, por lo que este pequeño libro te ayudará a reforzar los conocimientos adquiridos en las largas sesiones de estudio en cualquier momento o lugar, de una manera rápida y ágil.Espero que estos apuntes te ayuden a conseguir la meta que, como yo, te has propuesto. Será duro, pero, lo conseguiremos.

Originally published in Spanish and edited by Cuban historian Daisy Rubiera Castillo and playwright and theater critic Inés María Martiatu Terry, this ground-breaking edited collection is the first work of its kind. It places the experiences of black and mulata women at the center of Cuban history. Including essays from a mix of well-known and newly published Cuban authors, the volume examines the lives of Afrocubanas from the late nineteenth century to the present. The volume’s contributors collect and interrogate the voices of black Cuban women and the political, cultural, social, and ideological contributions they have made to the history of their nation. One of the unique qualities of Afrocubanas is that the text is the product of a grassroots community working group in Havana. A number of antiracist organizations emerged to fight racial inequality in light of Cuba’s new economic challenges after the fall of its chief trading partner, the Soviet Union in 1991. But, the Afrocubanas Project (founded in the mid-2000s) is one of the few groups that challenges racism and sexism together. The members of the Afrocubanas Project hail from a variety of professions, ages, and sexual orientations. They share a collective interest in challenging negative stereotypes about black women. This volume merges their activism and scholarship to offer a counter discourse to existing narratives about black women in Cuba while also creating and disseminating new knowledge about Afrocubanas. The marriage of philosophy and fiction in the first third of Spain's twentieth century was a fertile one. It produced some truly notable offspring—novels that cross genre boundaries to find innovative forms, and treatises that fuse literature and philosophy in new ways. In her illuminating interdisciplinary study of Spanish fiction of the "Silver Age," Roberta Johnson places this important body of Spanish literature in context through a synthesis of social, literary, and philosophical history. Her examination of the work of Miguel de Unamuno, Pio Baroja, Azorin, Ramon Perez de Ayala, Juan Ramon Jimenez, Gabriel Miro, Pedro Salinas, Rosa Chacel, and Benjamin Jarnes brings to light philosophical frictions and debates and opens new interpersonal and intertextual perspectives on many of the period's most canonical novels. Johnson reformulates the traditional discussion of generations and "isms" by viewing the period as an intergenerational complex in which writers with similar philosophical and personal interests constituted dynamic groupings that interacted and constantly defined and redefined one another. Current narratological theories, including those of Todorov, Genette, Bakhtin, and Martinez Bonati, assist in teasing out the intertextual maneuvers and philosophical conflicts embedded in the novels of the period, while the sociological and biographical material bridges the philosophical and literary analyses.
