Book Description
Excerpt from Minutes of the Third Annual Meeting, Baton Rouge, La., March 11-13, 1913: Woman's Missionary Society, Louisiana Conference, Methodist Episcopal Church, South The first devotional service was conducted by our Honorary Life President, Mrs. E. R. Kennedy. The grand hymn, Faith of our Fathers, which had been sung for a year throughout the church, rang out with a fervor born only in hearts conscious of that faith, as they made over and over again the vow, I will be true to thee till death. At the close of the sacred hour, Rev. W. W. Drake and Rev. A. I. Townsley administered the Sacrament. No hour of the session was holier than this, when the workers came together into closer fellowship with the Father through the Son. The reports of officers showed a large increase in the work. Our Treasurer reported the total cash receipts for the year 1912 to be an increase of nearly over the preceding year. The annual sermon was preached by the local pastor, Rev. W. W. Drake, the text being, All power is given unto me in heaven and earth. Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
