Degree He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Westminister College in 1942. After serving several pastorates in North Carolina and St. Louis he came to the Pearsall Memorial Church in 1949 where he served until his retirement in 1977. During his pastorate at the Pearsall Church he also served as profession of philosophy at Wilmington College and chairman of the department of philosophy and religion at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
