At their first meeting unanimously Resolved, That one of the mem' bers of this Board, or some other suitable man, be employed as a. Collecting missionary, whose duty it shall be to visit the church' es, neighborhoods and individuals within the bounds of the Asso ciation, to enforce the'duty of christian benevolence, and to soli cit donations and subscriptions for the spread of truth, and, es pecially, for the use ofthis Board in its appropriate work ofsupply ing the destitute with preaching and religious books. As you were informed by a circular appended to the minutes ofyour sess sion, we appointed to this work our brother A. A. Gonnella, who was compelled, reluctantly, to decline the appointment. Nor could we secure any one to undertake this important. Service.
