James and Jean joined the many emigrants coming to the promised land in the early 1700s. James was born ca 1726. He married Jean (James?) somewhere around 1747. Their son William was born ca 1748 after they were settled in Prince Frederick, Craven county. James died at the age of 29 in Sumter county in 1756.
