Ce projet avait pour objet de mettre au point une méthode rapide d'estimation de la consommation d'énergie dans les tours d'habitation, au moyen de l'intelligence artificielle. La méthode donne de multiples résultats tels que la consommation totale d'énergie, la charge au kw, la consommation d'énergie pour le chauffage et le refroidissement, et tient compte de variables telles que l'orientation des appartements, l'emploi du temps des occupants et l'interaction entre le CVC et les systèmes de l'enveloppe. Les travaux se sont déroulés comme suit: -Création des bases de données classifiant les paramètres des simulations énergétiques, la modélisation et la validation des résultats au moyen du DOE-2. -Application de réseaux neuronaux à la formation et à la validation des résultats. -Élaboration de la simulation pour les tours d'habitation. -Validation du programme de simulation. À ce stade, le programme a été mis au point pour des conditions climatiques similaires à celles d'Ottawa, mais il sera élargi plus tard. Il a été testé pour vérifier son exactitude au regard d'une tour d'habitation ayant déjà fait l'objet de contrôles à Ottawa. Il fournit la consommation énergétique totale de l'immeuble, de même que la consommation par les appartements, les couloirs et le stationnement, avec la charge au kw. L'entrée des données et les interfaces des résultats peuvent être modifiés. Le programme a été élaboré dans un environnement MatLab; pour une application plus large, il faudrait le traduire en langage C++.

Domestic homicide is violence that strikes within our most intimate relations. The most common strategy for addressing this kind of transgression relies on policing and prisons. But through examining commonly accepted typologies of high-risk intimate partner violence, Ardath Whynacht shows that policing can be understood as part of the same root problem as the violence it seeks to mend and provides an abolitionist frame for the most dangerous forms of intimate partner violence. This book illustrates that the origins of both the carceral state and toxic masculinity are situated in settler colonialism and racial capitalism and sees police homicide and domestic homicide as akin. Describing an experience of domestic homicide in her community and providing a deeply personal analysis of some of the most recent cases of homicide in Canada, the author inhabits the complexity of seeking abolitionist justice.
