The Effect of Silicon, Tin and Chromium on the Corrosion and Mechanical Properties of Zirconium - Molybdenum - Niobium Alloys

The Effect of Silicon, Tin and Chromium on the Corrosion and Mechanical Properties of Zirconium - Molybdenum - Niobium Alloys PDF Author:

Book Description
This investigation had as its goal the explanation of the effect of tin, chromium and silicon on the corrosion and mechanical properties of the indicated ternary alloys. Tin and chromium were selected as the alloying additives, since their favorable effect on the corrosion and strength properties of zirconium is well known. The selection of silicon was based on the fact that its addition to titanium strongly increases the heat resistance of titanium at 800 and 1000 deg. The alloying additions of tin, chromium and silicon were introduced to the ternary alloys in small quantities.
