Plasma Processing for VLSI

Plasma Processing for VLSI PDF Author: Norman G. Einspruch
Publisher: Academic Press
ISBN: 1483217752
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 544

Book Description
VLSI Electronics: Microstructure Science, Volume 8: Plasma Processing for VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) discusses the utilization of plasmas for general semiconductor processing. It also includes expositions on advanced deposition of materials for metallization, lithographic methods that use plasmas as exposure sources and for multiple resist patterning, and device structures made possible by anisotropic etching. This volume is divided into four sections. It begins with the history of plasma processing, a discussion of some of the early developments and trends for VLSI. The second section, Deposition, discusses deposition techniques for VLSI such as sputtering metals for metallization and contacts, plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition of metals and suicides, and plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition of dielectrics. The part on Lithography presents the high-resolution trilayer resist system, pulsed x-ray sources for submicrometer x-ray lithography, and high-intensity deep-UV sources. The last part, Etching, provides methods in etching, like ion-beam etching using reactive gases, low-pressure reactive ion etching, and the uses of inert-gas ion milling. The theory and mechanisms of plasma etching are described and a number of new device structures made possible by anisotropic etching are enumerated as well. Scientists, engineers, researchers, device designers, and systems architects will find the book useful.

Aesthetic Clinician's Guide to Platelet Rich Plasma

Aesthetic Clinician's Guide to Platelet Rich Plasma PDF Author: Shilpi Khetarpal
Publisher: Springer Nature
ISBN: 3030814270
Category : Medical
Languages : en
Pages : 131

Book Description
Platelet rich plasma therapy uses a patient's own platelets to encourage and accelerate healing in a variety of tissues. With the growing popularity of using platelet rich plasma for aesthetic procedures, the need for a book that ties together all of the current literature in one place has become more pressing. This book fills in that gap as a comprehensive guide that covers history, basic science and clinical utility of platelet rich plasma with its uses in hair restoration, facial rejuvenation, and some wound healing. It includes the latest studies/literature from peer reviewed journals and clinical, anecdotal experience. Chapters provide an extensive look at how to describe the mechanism of action of platelet rich plasma (PRP) in the skin and hair; how to identify the difference between PRP, platelet rich fibrin, and stem cells; and identify the various PRP preparation systems and how to calculate dosing. Aesthetic Clinician's Guide to Platelet Rich Plasma is written especially for the aesthetic clinician, whether dermatologist or plastic surgeon. This book will find utility across specialties and with it's extensive coverage it is a vital reference.

Plasma Chemistry - 2: Plasma Chemistry and Transport Phenomena in Thermal Plasmas

Plasma Chemistry - 2: Plasma Chemistry and Transport Phenomena in Thermal Plasmas PDF Author: A. T. Bell
Publisher: Elsevier
ISBN: 1483284492
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 118

Book Description
Plasma Chemistry - 2: Plasma Chemistry and Transport Phenomena in Thermal Plasmas presents the proceeding of the Second International Symposium on Plasma Chemistry, held in Rome, Italy, on September 18–23, 1975. This book discusses the thermodynamic state of chemically reacting plasmas, which are generally described by Pauli or Boltzmann kinetic equations. Organized into eight chapters, this compilation of papers begins with an overview of the influence of the plasma state by a superimposed laser radiation field. This text then examines the mechanisms of chemical transformations in electric discharges. Other chapters consider the successful exploitation of thermal plasmas in the field of high temperature chemistry. This book discusses as well the status of plasma processes involving mass transfer and heat, with reference to the processes of condensation, vaporization, and chemical reaction. The final chapter deals with plasma heating and spraying of various materials. This book is a valuable resource for chemists, metallurgists, and scientists.

ECAT Assay Procedures A Manual of Laboratory Techniques

ECAT Assay Procedures A Manual of Laboratory Techniques PDF Author: J. Jespersen
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 9401129924
Category : Medical
Languages : en
Pages : 228

Book Description
This book offers a description of current and recently developed laboratory assays in the field of haemostasis and thrombosis. It is the result of a unique cooperation between experts from more than 60 institutes in 12 European countries, brought together by the ECA T (European Concerted Action on Thrombosis and Disabilities) under the auspices of the Commission of the European Communities in Brussels, Belgium. The ECAT, which was initiated in 1981, designed and performed three prospective clinical studies to establish haemostatic factors as risk indicators of thrombosis. Included were patients with angina pectoris at risk from myocardial infarction, patients undergoing angioplasty at risk from re-stenosis, and patients receiving hip replacement at risk from deep venous thrombosis. Assay procedures were chosen, training courses for technicians held, and essential reagents were supplied from a central source. A quality control assessment scheme served to compare assay results both within and between laboratories. In the angina pectoris study, centres determined most of the assays locally; in the other two studies assays were performed centrally. The need for further quality assessment in Europe Dr J. F. Davidson in Glasgow, led to a separate activity coordinated by including coagulation inhibitors and plasminogen as risk factors for familial venous thrombosis. The Editors hope the ECA T Assay Procedures book will contribute to further harmonization ofhaemostasis assays, and ultimately to their standardization.
