Book Description
Life happens. Every event that takes place in your life, every person you have ever met, every circumstance you have lived through has a place in your puzzle of life. Before you were born, God had created a beautiful masterpiece. It is filled with color, happiness, laughter and tears. It is filled with struggles as well as sweet triumphs. It is filled with every experience in your life, both good and bad. As you move through your life, the pieces of your puzzle are set one at a time. Each one is essential and relevant. When completed, your puzzle will finally make sense. You will be able to recognize how each piece has brought you to where you are today. Each piece fits, in some way, to help bring you to a place where God wants you to be. When something happens that is unbearable and you cannot find a reason for it, sometimes it is Gods own steadying hand that helps set the piece into place. Build your puzzle with confidence, one piece at a time, and know your masterpiece was created by the Master Himself, piece by important piece.

Book Description
We're all working to complete a complex puzzle with the pieces of our lives, something of eternal value. Unlike the ones made by toy companies, the ones we're working to complete do not come in a nice box with a color picture on top depicting the finished puzzle. With an average life span of 78.8 years, we each get just under thirty thousand irreplaceable days which will come together to create the unique picture of our lives. Some get more pieces, some way less. I was never told as a child that much of life was not going to make sense, that many of the pieces of my life would have sharp edges, deep pain, grievous loss, and severe limitation attached to them. It's was easy to scream at the silent night sky, "Why me?" when staring down a dragon. We desperately want to put some pieces back in the box. Those of faith believe God orders their steps, numbers their days, brings together thousands of pieces to create a rich and meaningful life. We claim radiant promises such as, "For I know the plans that I have for you, ' declares the Lord, 'plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." We know our Creator has put exactly the right number and mix of pieces into the boxes of our lives, that when we let Him have His way with us, the resulting picture of our lives will be out of this world. "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, nor has the heart of man even imagined all that God has prepared for those who love him." Suddenly, all the pieces fit together. Inside are some puzzle pieces of my life, some colorful, some dark gray, even black. I trust God is not finished putting me together yet. May it be so for you.

Behold! A Royal Army

Behold! A Royal Army PDF Author: R. Dean Lang
Publisher: Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
ISBN: 1685706126
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 228

Book Description
The war in heaven is not over; it has only changed venues. In the preexistence, we--each and everyone of us--exercised our faith in the future sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Satan and his followers were cast out. Those who exercised their agency and chose to follow Jesus, beginning with Adam and Eve, have been given the wonderful privilege of coming here to mortality to receive physical bodies, to rediscover our faith in Jesus Christ, and to grow in righteousness through the exercise of our agency as we choose to follow His commandments. These are exciting times. These are the last days, and the spiritual battle for the souls of the sons and daughters of God rages on around us. If we are to be successful in preserving not only ourselves but our families amidst these tumultuous times, then we must be informed. We must be vigilant, and above all, we must be prepared. The teachings of both ancient and latter-day prophets have been preserved to that end--to help us be prepared and to enable us to be victorious in our battles.

Literary Illumination

Literary Illumination PDF Author: Richard Leahy
Publisher: University of Wales Press
ISBN: 1786832690
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 251

Book Description
Literary Illumination examines the relationship between literature and artificial illumination, demonstrating that developments of lighting technology during the nineteenth century definitively altered the treatment of light as symbol, metaphor and textual motif. Correspondingly, the book also engages with the changing nature of darkness, and how the influence of artificial light altered both public perceptions of, and behaviour within, darkness, as well as examining literary chiaroscuros. Within each of four main chapters dedicated to the analysis of a single dominant light source in the long nineteenth-century – firelight, candlelight, gaslight, and electric light – the author considers the phenomenological properties of the light sources, and where their presence would be felt most strongly in the nineteenth century, before collating a corpus of texts for each light source and environment.
