Low Frequency Scattering

Low Frequency Scattering PDF Author: George Dassios
Publisher: Oxford University Press
ISBN: 9780198536789
Category : Language Arts & Disciplines
Languages : en
Pages : 322

Book Description
Scattering theory deals with the interactions of waves with obstacles in their path, and low frequency scattering occurs when the obstacles involved are very small. This book gives an overview of the subject for graduates and researchers, for the first time unifying the theories covering acoustic, electromagnetic and elastic waves.

Book Description
Electromagnetic Scattering is a collection of studies that aims to discuss methods, state of the art, applications, and future research in electromagnetic scattering. The book covers topics related to the subject, which includes low-frequency electromagnetic scattering; the uniform asymptomatic theory of electromagnetic edge diffraction; analyses of problems involving high frequency diffraction and imperfect half planes; and multiple scattering of waves by periodic and random distribution. Also covered in this book are topics such as theories of scattering from wire grid and mesh structures; the electromagnetic inverse problem; computational methods for transmission of waves; and developments in the use of complex singularities in the electromagnetic theory. Engineers and physicists who are interested in the study, developments, and applications of electromagnetic scattering will find the text informative and helpful.

Low Frequency Acoustic and Electromagnetic Scattering

Low Frequency Acoustic and Electromagnetic Scattering PDF Author: S. I. Hariharan
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Electromagnetism
Languages : en
Pages : 32

Book Description
"This paper deals with two classes of problems arising from acoustics and electromagnetics scattering in the low frequency situations. The first class of problem is solving Helmholtz equation with Dirichlet boundary conditions on an arbitrary two-dimensional body while the second one is an interior-exterior interface problem with Helmholtz equation in the exterior. Low frequency analysis show that there are two intermediate problems which solve the above problems accurate to 0(k^2 log k) where k is the frequency. These solutions greatly differ from the zero frequency approximations. For the Dirichlet problem numerical examples are shown to verify our theoretical estimates" -- abstract.

Electromagnetic Scattering and Its Applications

Electromagnetic Scattering and Its Applications PDF Author: Gian Luigi Gragnani
Publisher: Mdpi AG
ISBN: 9783036522074
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 134

Book Description
Electromagnetic scattering is a very wide research topic and is behind the development of many devices and systems in everyday life: from mobile communication to radar apparatuses, from medical diagnostics to innovative materials, and so forth. Despite the significant advances made in the study of this subject, that goes back centuries, new applications are continuously emerging and stimulating researchers to face both theoretical and practical issues. This book aims at presenting innovative research contributions in different fields where electromagnetic scattering phenomena play an important role, which include scattering theory and modeling, numerical techniques, and applications. We would like to thank all the contributors to this Special Issue and the reviewers who took the time to provide the authors with very valuable and constructive comments and suggestions. Without their invaluable contribution, this Special Issue would not have been possible. Gian Luigi Gragnani Alessandro Fedeli

Low Frequency Iterative Solution of Integral Equations in Electromagnetic Scattering Theory

Low Frequency Iterative Solution of Integral Equations in Electromagnetic Scattering Theory PDF Author: George A. Gray
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Electromagnetic waves
Languages : en
Pages : 197

Book Description
This report investigates the scattering of electromagnetic waves by a perfectly conducting object. The incident field is assumed to be time harmonic and the scatterer a closed bounded Lyapunov surface with no holes. A boundary integral equation for the total field (incident plus scattered) is derived using an integral representation of the total field analogous to Green's formula. The proof that this boundary integral equation can be solved by iteration rests on showing that the spectral radius of the resulting integral operator is less than one for small perturbations of the corresponding potential operator.
