L'ultimo degli Arlecchini celebri dopo il Bertinazzi, detto Carlin, e il Sacchi, del quale il Goldoni fa tanti elogi nelle sue Memorie fu Antonio papadopoli, attore distintissimo, che poi si mise a fare il caratterista, e dopo essersi mangiate migliaia e migliaia di lire, si ridusse miseramente a digiunare. Tuttavia serbo sempre il buon umore d'una volta, ne rimpianse il pas sato che per gli anni perduti della gaia e av venturosa giovinezza.
