Le 13 septembre 2017, Paris a été désigné ville hôte pour les Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques en 2024. Le démarrage d'importants travaux à l'échelle du Grand Paris l'engage, notamment pour la construction du Village Olympique et Paralympique et du Village des médias. Aussi, entre les flux de matériaux utilisés pour les travaux et les flux considérables de marchandises circulant pendant l'événement, la logistique des Jeux et la logistique urbaine des villages peuvent contribuer directement aux objectifs de développement durable et de promotion de la ville intelligente et durable porté par les Jeux. Plus largement, si elles sont intégrées en amont à la réflexion l'organisation et d'aménagement, la logistique urbaine peut être un levier considérable pour l'héritage du territoire de la Seine Saint-Denis et du Grand Paris. C'est dans ce contexte, qu'en vue d'établir un schéma stratégique pour la logistique JO, l'Atelier Parisien d'Urbanisme (APUR) a réalisé une étude préalable en 2018.

Le 13 septembre 2017 à Lima sera dévoilée la ville hôte des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympique de 2024. La Ville de Paris a annoncé sa candidature le 23 juin 2015. Cette candidature a fait le choix de la sobriété financière et écologique, en utilisant à 95% des équipements existants ou temporaires et de la compacité : les sites seront majoritairement situés dans un rayon de 10km autour du village olympique. Cette candidature repose également sur une stratégie environnementale ambitieuse, fortement poussée par le WWF France, qui devrait faire des Jeux de Paris « les plus durables de l’histoire ». Ces Jeux doivent être enfin un formidable accélérateur de développement territorial. Paris 2024 met en avant la construction d’un héritage durable au plan urbain, social, environnemental et sportif dont bénéficiera la Seine-Saint-Denis, mais pas seulement. C’est à la découverte de cet héritage et de sa co-construction qu’invite ce supplément de la revue Urbanisme, réalisé en partenariat avec la Ville de Paris, le Conseil départemental de Seine-Saint-Denis, Plaine Commune et Paris Terres d’envol. Une partie sera réalisée, quel que soit le résultat du 13 septembre. Mais pour l’ensemble des acteurs publics et privés engagés dans la candidature olympique, l’essentiel, cette fois, n’est pas de participer mais de gagner. C’est la condition pour que cet héritage se déploie dans toute son ampleur.

A groundbreaking consideration of death from capitalism, from the seventeenth to the twenty-first century From a 2013 Texas fertilizer plant explosion that killed fifteen people and injured 252 to a 2017 chemical disaster in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, we are confronted all too often with industrial accidents that reflect the underlying attitude of corporations toward the lives of laborers and others who live and work in their companies’ shadows. Dead Labor takes seriously the myriad ways in which bodies are commodified and profits derived from premature death. In doing so it provides a unique perspective on our understanding how life and death drive the twenty-first-century global economy. James Tyner tracks a history from the 1600s through which premature death and mortality became something calculable, predictable, manageable, and even profitable. Drawing on a range of examples, including the criminalization of migrant labor, medical tourism, life insurance, and health care, he explores how today we can no longer presume that all bodies undergo the same processes of life, death, fertility, and mortality. He goes on to develop the concept of shared mortality among vulnerable populations and examines forms of capital exploitation that have emerged around death and the reproduction of labor. Positioned at the intersection of two fields—the political economy of labor and the philosophy of mortality—Dead Labor builds on Marx’s notion that death (and truncated life) is a constant factor in the processes of labor. In 1969 the U.S. Air Force issued a statement that read' "No UFO reported, investigated and evaluated by the Air Force was ever an indication of threat to our national security." This statement is patently false. It has been proven untrue by the testimony of many military officers and airmen and documentation of incidents involving UFOs and nuclear weapons, testimonies of which the U.S. Air Force was fully aware. Unidentified details many of these testimonies, some for the first time. As partial justification for its position, the Air Force cites a University of Colorado study that was contracted and paid for by federal funds. Unidentified reveals how this study was actually just another part of the plan to cover up the reality of the UFO phenomenon. For the first time, Unidentified publishes evidence that the investigators for the Colorado study knew about the UFO-related missile shutdown incidents but did not investigate them or include them in their final report.
