La culture de la communication exige, parallèlement avec un bon choix des éléments lexico-syntaxique, la maîtrise de la forme sonore de l'énoncé. La correction phonétique ne doit pas être négligée dès le premier temps de l'enseignement/apprentissage d'une langue étrangère. Les étudiants apprenant le français sont confrontés aux difficultés dont certaines dues au système phonologique et d'autres aux systèmes prosodique. Dans l'intérêt de l'enseignement de la prononciation du français aux étudiants arabophones yéménites, le présent travail a tenté, dans un premier temps, de cerner acoustiquement les problèmes que rencontrent ces derniers dans les réalisations des voyelles françaises. Or, connaître ces problèmes, suppose d'effectuer une étude contrastive acoustique qui souligne les interférences possibles entre le système vocalique du français et celui de la langue des apprenants. Avant d'élaborer un tableau d'interférence vocalique spécifique à ce public, les résultats acoustiques retenus ont été vérifiés par des tests de perception effectués auprès des natifs français. Dans un deuxième temps, cette étude acoustique a montré certaines interférences prosodiques que font les étudiants yéménites sur le plan mélodique et temporel en réalisant les énoncés français. Les résultats relevés dans nos analyses expérimentales au niveau segmental et suprasegmental nous ont permis de proposer des moyens de correction phonétique adéquats aux difficultés qu'éprouve un public arabophone yéménite dans l'apprentissage du français.
