En raison de l'augmentation du nombre de grossesses tardives en France, nous avons souhaité comparer les taux de complications obstétricales et périnatales dans la population des primipares de 40 ans et plus aux taux de complications obstétricales et périnatales dans la population des primipares âgées de 25 à 30 ans, à l'HME (Hôpital de la mère et de l'enfant) de Limoges, maternité de type III. Nous avons pu montrer que l'âge favorise l'apparition de certaines complications avant la grossesse, notamment les pathologies thyroïdiennes, mais aussi de pathologies gravidiques comme le diabète gestationnel. Les accouchements étaient davantage dystociques en raison d'un recours à la césarienne et d'un taux d'assistances instrumentales plus importants. Le poids moyen de leur enfant à la naissance était également plus bas. Notre faible effectif ne nous a pas permis de mettre en évidence de différence significative pour les autres complications même si celles-ci étaient dans la grande majorité des cas augmentées dans la population des femmes âgées de 40 ans et plus.
