This book contains the proceedings of the international workshop “Designing and Building with Ultra-High Performance Fibre-Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC): State of the Art and Development”, organized by AFGC, the French Association for Civil Engineering and French branch of fib, in Marseille (France), November 17-18, 2009. This workshop was focused on the experience of a lot of recent UHPFRC realizations. Les bétons de fibres métalliques (BFM) font l'objet, depuis plus de trente ans, d'un effort de recherche important dans le monde. La France est sûrement un des pays qui a acquis le plus de connaissances et de maîtrise de ces matériaux. Malgré cela, on pouvait constater qu'au début des années 90 leur utilisation dans le domaine du génie civil restait encore trop marginale. C'est pour cela qu'en 1996 un Projet national appelé BEFIM (BEton de FIbres Métalliques) a vu le jour avec comme objectif principal de favoriser le développement industriel des BFM en France. C'est ainsi que BEFIM s'est penché sur les dallages industriels, les pieux forés, les voussoirs de tunnel, les réparations en béton projeté, les panneaux de façades autoporteurs ou, encore, le renforcement des buses métalliques corrodées. Le présent ouvrage est une synthèse des résultats importants obtenus en ce qui concerne ces différentes applications. Il s'efforce d'apporter des conclusions claires et utilisables parles professionnels du génie civil et, notamment, de proposer des recommandations portant, à la fois, sur les problèmes de dimensionnement et de mise en ouvre des BFM.
