L’ankylose est définie comme la fusion du cément ou de la dentine avec los alvéolaire. Selon les études, la prévalence de l’ankylose des dents temporaires varie entre 1,3% et 38,5%. Les dents permanentes sont dix fois moins atteintes. La principale étiologie de l’ankylose des incisives permanentes est traumatique, notamment (‘expulsion et l’intrusion. Toutefois, les troubles métaboliques et (es origines syndromiques sont également décrits dans la littérature. Les tests cliniques (mobilité et percussion), l’apparition d’une infraclusion, ainsi que la radiographie, sont utilisés pour le diagnostic des ankyloses dentaires. De nouveaux outils employés à d’autres fins, comme le Periotest®, l’analyse de fréquence de résonnance ou la tomodensitométrie et la reconstruction en trois dimensions, contribuent également au diagnostic des ankyloses dentaires. Cependant, les tests à la percussion et à la mobilité sont encore considérés comme les “gold standards°. Deux options thérapeutiques s’offrent au praticien°: la non-conservation de la dent ankylosée, dont l’extraction ou la décoronation, et la conservation de la dent avec la reconstitution prothétique et les différents traitements chirurgicaux visant à repositionner la dent ankylosée. L’objectif de ce travail de revue de la littérature sera de décrire les étiologies, les moyens diagnostiques et les traitements de l’ankylose des incisives permanentes.
