Deed of sale between William Clark and his son, William Preston Clark, for the sum of five dollars, conveying "a certain lot of land lying and being in the City of Saint Louis, in Block No. 10. Bounded as follows, viz. Fronting on the east side of Main or First Street 27 feet 2 inches and running back at right angles 115 feet, more or less to an alley 15 feet wide; on the north by an alley contemplated to be 4 feet wide, and sixty feet deep, which was set apart by Wm. Clark and James Kennerly for the use & benefit of the owners of said lots, & which separates it from a house built by James Kennerly & now own'd by Geo Collier; east by an alley 15 feet wide; and south by a lot now owned by John [F.?] Darby Esq." Signed "Wm Clark," witnessed by "Abby C. Clark" and "[J. W. Kennerly?]." Verso is certified and signed twice by John Ruland, clerk of the Circuit Court and ex officio recorder in St. Louis County, and embossed with the Circuit Court seal.
