Lake County, Florida is facing unprecedented growth in the next 10 years and the fire service is still playing catch up from the last 10 years. A Standard needs to be developed that will plan for a level of service that would be acceptable to both the County and its taxpayers. Through program evaluation, research of other jurisdictions and literature review, it was determined that Lake County needed to provide a standard that addressed: 1- A method of determining where fire stations were to be located. 2- Minimum equipment levels. 3- Minimum manning requirements. 4- Design fire protection requirements that pass costs on to the developers. It was recommended that the proposed standard be designed that addresses level of service and be implemented as a five year plan. It was also recommended that developers be informed as to the ramifications that their lack of concern will cause as it pertains to level of service.

Florida Constitutional Law, a casebook used throughout Florida since 1992, is now available in a new edition. This new edition updates, deepens, and refines its focus on an array of state constitutional points.
