Book Description
This study guide is intended to be a guide for individuals who desire to learn more about missionary work. It does not aim to cover every subject concerning the missionary and his mission, but rather to set forth in an abridged form a working knowledge of the missionary and his duty to win souls for the Lord. Jesus commanded his disciples to go into the world to preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). A missionary is one of the tools that God uses to evangelize the world. God realizes that, in addition to knowledge, other qualities are necessary for a missionary to become successful on the missionary field. Some of these qualities are less tangible but must exist concurrently for an individual to achieve that success. Missionaries are reflections of Jesus Christ; when others see them, they see what they ought to be. God has set missionaries in the church for the purpose of picking up the pieces of weak and shattered lives and putting them back together again (Acts 13:47). In this study guide, I will introduce you to the life of a missionary as it relates to his purpose, place, position, and work in the church and the community. It is my desire that this manual will be a blessing to all.

Whispers in the Vineyard

Book Description
I have never been the outdoor type. I never dreamt of working with the fertile earth and getting my fingernails dirty. (Heavens, I might break one!) My pursuits have always been inside activities: decorating, reading, sewing, singing, tending to my many houseplants and caring for three boys. I certainly never envisioned myself as a farmer. (Who me? In overalls, driving a tractor? No way!) I had no idea what intensive work lay before me and the parallels God would reveal to me; parallels between me training and caring for the vineyard and His training and caring for me. The Love of our Vineyard Keeper and His meticulous care for us; the rationale for some of the apparently painful processes He performs in our lives; these became clearer to me as I journeyed deep into the life of the vineyard.

Wine & Wine Offering In The Religion Of Ancient Egypt
Author: Mu-chou Poo
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 1317793099
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 198
Book Description
First published in 1995. Striking a niche among an intensely studied literary civilization, this title assesses the meaning of wine and wine offering in the context of Egyptian religion by presenting observations about the implication of this study for the study of Egyptian religion in general. Ancient Egypt has yielded the outlines of its religious, political, economic, and social institutions. Yet, we know relatively little of the actual process through which an object of daily life, such as wine, was integrated into the religious system. Scholars have studied various ritual offerings in Egyptian religion and clarified the religious significance of the offering objects. This title aims to fill a gap in knowledge in a similar fashion.
