Book Description
As I look back on some of the things I did to keep from going to church, I have to laugh. I would take my twin brother's and sister's only pair of shoes and hide them. Back in those days my parents could only afford one pair of shoes. I was hoping that my mother would let me stay home and baby sit. Look at me now! Married to a pastor, going to church all the time. Is this God's way of reminding me not to "hinder the little children". After all, He does work in mysterious ways. As I set out on life's journey of an unknown destination unsure of the path I would go, the most important thing one can do is always be true to "oneself". Remember, there's nothing that God cannot do. So, start out today with faith in your heart, until your dreams come true!

Book Description
In a day when most religious leaders were known for their efforts to discredit the ministry of Jesus, there came one who earnestly sought Him. In a day when most religious leaders mocked Jesus as He hung on a cross, there came one who meekly helped bury His body. And in a day when most religious leaders felt threatened by Jesus, there came one who courageously chose to take a stand for Him.This is the story of a teacher called Nicodemus who God used to teach what it means to seek God, not only in word, but also in deed. Just as his life was a testimony to the people of his day, it remains an example to us today. There is an adage that says, "if you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything." Nicodemus was a humble man who willingly stood boldly for truth. Explore his story through this novella - the portion you may already know, and the rest of the story that could have been.

Book Description
Inhaltsangabe:Abstract: "One Market - One Money." On paper the future of European Monetary Integration never looked more promising than now: ·The Maastricht Treaty has finally been ratified by all twelve member governments in mid October 1993, even the most sceptical states Denmark and the U.K., so that the aim of European Monetary Union (E.M.U.) rests on a solid legal basis now. ·On January 1, 1994 the European Monetary Institute (E.M.I.) began its operations with a goal of intensifying monetary coordination in Europe.} In addition, the E.M.I. will prepare the conceptual groundwork for the activities of the future European Central Bank (E.C.B.). ·The " Road to a common Europe" has been opened and monetary policy roadsigns point in the direction of European Monetary Union with a single currency. In reality, the prospects of the achievement of E.M.U. have deteriorated in the course of 1993 and under present conditions the likelihood of a failure of the Maastricht Treaty is quite high. The European currency crises in September 1993 led to realignments within the European Monetary System (E.M.S.) and fluctuation margins were widened to +/- 15 per cent. These events and a breakdown of cooperation between national monetary authorities have raised doubts about the feasibility of the timetable for moving towards full monetary union. This thesis provides an overview of the progress towards a monetary union, including a common currency, in the European Community (E.C.). In addition, it examines whether the approach to monetary union remains viable and if so, the circumstances under which monetary union will eventually happen. Book Description
From Stonewall Award winner Bill Konigsberg, a remarkable, funny, sexy, heartbreaking story of two teen boys finding each other in New York City at the height of the AIDS epidemic. The first thing I noticed about C.J. Gorman was his plexiglass bra. So begins Destination Unknown -- it's 1987 in New York City, and Micah is at a dance club, trying to pretend he's more out and outgoing than he really is. C.J. isn't just out -- he’s completely out there, and Micah can't help but be both attracted to and afraid of someone who travels so loudly and proudly through the night. A connection occurs. Is it friendship? Romance? Is C.J. the one with all the answers... or does Micah bring more to the relationship than it first seems? As their lives become more and more entangled in the AIDS epidemic that’s laying waste to their community, and the AIDS activism that will ultimately bring a strong voice to their demands, whatever Micah and C.J. have between them will be tested, strained, pushed, and pulled -- but it will also be a lifeline in a time of death, a bond that will determine the course of their futures. In Destination Unknown, Bill Konigsberg returns to a time he knew well as a teenager to tell a story of identity, connection, community, and survival.

Book Description
A stunning novel of hopes and dreams, guilt and love—a book that offers a resonant new definition of what it means to be American and "illuminates the lives behind the current debates about Latino immigration" (The New York Times Book Review). When fifteen-year-old Maribel Rivera sustains a terrible injury, the Riveras leave behind a comfortable life in Mexico and risk everything to come to the United States so that Maribel can have the care she needs. Once they arrive, it’s not long before Maribel attracts the attention of Mayor Toro, the son of one of their new neighbors, who sees a kindred spirit in this beautiful, damaged outsider. Their love story sets in motion events that will have profound repercussions for everyone involved. Here Henríquez seamlessly interweaves the story of these star-crossed lovers, and of the Rivera and Toro families, with the testimonials of men and women who have come to the United States from all over Latin America.
