Excerpt from Journal of the Proceedings of the Convention of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the State of Vermont, Held at Manchester on the 26th Day of June, 1822: To Which Is Prefixed the Constitution of the Convention, Together With Abstracts of the Journals of the Conventions of 1820 and 1821 Aa'r. V. [f at any time a Bishop is to be elected by this Convention, the Secretary, by order of the President or Stand ing Committee, shall write to the Minister or one of the War dens of each Church, at least six weeks before the election is to take place, and give notice of the time and place appointed for such election, and request, that delegates may attend the Convention for the purpose and in every such election. The Convention shall vote in distinct orders - the Clerical order shall make a nomination by ballot, aud a.majority of the bay Delegates shall approve the appointment, before the person shall e considered elected.
