Venable. Dr. W. W. Landrum, pastor of the First Baptist Church, invoked the divine blessing upon the meeting. Addresses of welcome were made by Governor J. M. Terrell, of Georgia, Mayor Evan P. Howell, of Atlanta, and John Temple Graves. The response was made by Dr. Edwin M. Poteat, presi dent oi Furman University, Greenville, S. C.
