Essentials of Entrepreneurship Second Edition

Essentials of Entrepreneurship Second Edition PDF Author: Robert A. Baron
Publisher: Edward Elgar Publishing
ISBN: 1788115899
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 612

Book Description
Drawing on their own creativity, energy, and personal experience, entrepreneurs identify and seek to fill needs not currently being met by existing products or services. By doing so, they create financial/and or social value. This text examines all phases of the entrepreneurial process: ideas for something new and better than what currently exists, determining whether these ideas suggest viable business opportunities, obtaining needed financial and human resources, securing intellectual property protection, launching the new venture, developing strategies for gaining and maintaining competitive advantage, and building a customer base. In discussing these and other topics, the text draws on research findings that help identify variables that play a role in entrepreneurs’ effective performance of these tasks, and so–ultimately–in their success.

Entrepreneurship in Spain

Entrepreneurship in Spain PDF Author: Juan Manuel Matés-Barco
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 100032723X
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 206

Book Description
The figure of the entrepreneur has become a relevant factor that explains the process of growth and economic development. Rising unemployment rates have generated among institutional and private agents, a significant interest in promoting entrepreneurship as a formula to eradicate this social scourge of unemployment. Active policies that favor business culture and initiative are being promoted in all areas. In the university world, academic research has multiplied the work on entrepreneurship, a term that includes a triple meaning: the figure of the entrepreneur, the business function and the creation of companies. This versatile meaning must be based on a consistent theory about the company and the entrepreneur. This book presents specific cases of companies and entrepreneurs that have had their role throughout the history of Spain. The intention is to show the techniques and learning acquired by those agents, which have allowed a considerable advance in the knowledge of the structure and business development. This book brings together the research carried out by its authors with primary sources and makes it accessible to a wide audience—Spanish and Latin American—and will be of value to researchers, academics, and students with an interest in Spanish entrepreneurship, business, and management history.

Network-based Research in Entrepreneurship

Network-based Research in Entrepreneurship PDF Author: Ha Hoang
Publisher:
ISBN: 9781680830149
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 70

Book Description
Since Hoang and Antoncic [2003], network based research in entrepreneurship continues to develop and grow. To chart these developments, we discuss core relational (network content, governance), and structural constructs. We identify recent work that has introduced nodal and contextual constructs; the former capture attributes that inhere in the entrepreneur or venture to explain regularities in the patterns of network change. Contextual constructs reflect higher-level characteristics of the environment that influence lower level processes. The resulting theoretical models upon which empirical studies build reflect how the field as a whole has become more rich and complex. Broadly, studies continue to either examine how networks develop over time or their consequences for entrepreneurial outcomes. With more studies examining how network ties are initiated, evolve or are culled, our review of work published in the past decade finds that there is now a greater balance across these two streams. The process-oriented studies inform how entrepreneurial networks arise that may in turn lead to successful milestones achievement including financing and venture growth. We conclude by proposing future areas of research that include exploring the malleability of networking competencies, reviving dormant ties, examining the role of team level network constructs in venture performance, and greater incorporation of contextual factors. We also encourage research designs that employ multiple methods in order to better capture the wide range of constructs being incorporated into current theoretical models of networks.
