They had fourteen children. Family lived in Washington Co., Va. and settled near Nashville, Tennessee. Book deals mainly with the author's line, the Ohio branch, founded by John Whiteley (1780-1845) and his wife, Christian Hall. John was the son of Joseph Whiteley Jr. and he was born in North Carolina. He lived with his family in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio.
