Book Description
Correspondence from John A. Paine to John Torrey, tentatively dated 1860, containing a number of questions from the self-avowed "young botanist" such as the addresses of T.F. Allen and Peter D. Knieskern, and where he might obtain the second volume of Torrey and Gray's "Flora of North America." The bulk of the letter is taken up with a long description of a plant Paine is trying to identify, so far without success, which he found "two or three years ago in a pond on Cape Ann, MS [i.e. Massachusetts]."
