Jesus' Words on Salvation

Jesus' Words on Salvation PDF Author: Douglas J. Del Tondo
Publisher: Infinity
ISBN: 0741443570

Pages : 647

Book Description
A Christian attorney argues that Bonhoeffer was correct when he said we have developed a "Christianity without Christ" and exchanged Jesus' gospel of costly grace for one of "cheap grace." Del Tondo reviews all the major salvation statements and parables by Jesus. He then compares them to the prevalent doctrines of 'faith alone' which Bonhoeffer called 'cheap grace.' Del Tondo demonstrates that Jesus' doctrines on salvation insisted upon repentance from sin and obedience to His principles, thereby falsifying faith alone doctrine.

Jesus Outside the Gospels

Jesus Outside the Gospels PDF Author: R. Joseph Hoffman
Publisher: Prometheus Books
ISBN: 161592695X
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 132

Book Description
While the public has easy access to religious literature on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, there is little opportunity for the general reader to assess the more skeptical works of biblical criticism. In Jesus Outside the Gospels, Professor Hoffmann argues that very little is known about Jesus apart from the Gospels. He contends that the Gospels were intended to establish not the history of Jesus, but his divinity. The four books, attributed to men called Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, were written some two generations after the events they intended to describe. Hoffmann analyzes and quotes extensively from non-biblical sources written 1,900 years ago, providing a picture of the man called Jesus that is quite different from the man portrayed in the Gospels. Sources analyzed at length are the Talmud, Josephus, and Tacitus, as well as Gnostic and Apocryphal Gospels. The author holds to a controversial view that the Gospels are in reality the missionary propaganda of a first-century messianic cult and are far from objective biographies or historical annals. Jesus Outside the Gospels is essential reading for anyone desiring a careful and critical study of the New Testament.

Paul on Trial

Paul on Trial PDF Author: Gregory Robbins

Pages : 145

Book Description
The Apostle Paul claimed to have a different gospel than what Peter and the other apostles preached. Paul said that he had the gospel of the uncircumcision while Peter had the gospel of the circumcision. There was constant friction between the followers of Paul and the followers of the church in Jerusalem, during the New Testament narrative. Paul did not teach what Jesus taught, but taught a different gospel which he claimed to have received by revelation by Jesus Christ himself. Did Jesus contradict himself? Did he change the original gospel for a new one given only to Paul? Or was Paul lying about the entire matter? The contemporaries of Paul in the New Testament were the writers of Mathew, Mark, Luke, John, James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, Jude, and Revelation. All of these books are in agreement with one another. They were all written in approximately the same time frame as the epistles written by Paul. Yet the epistles written by Paul are in opposition to these books. The book that I have written goes into great detail about the differences between what Paul taught and what Jesus and the other New Testament writers taught. The only source material that is used is the Bible itself, based upon the King James version. This subject is possibly the most important subject to be considered by modern Christians. The modern church has rejected the teachings and the commands of Jesus Christ and is founded upon the Pauline Epistles. If Paul is indeed a liar, then the entire modern church is as the Church of Sardis in Revelation chapter three, "You have a name that you live, but you are dead." Be like the Bereans and study the scripture to see if these things are so. Study it all for yourself and do not trust your eternal salvation to what other people say.

Faithful to Jesus Christianity

Faithful to Jesus Christianity PDF Author: Ruy Barraco Marmol
Publisher: Createspace Independent Pub
ISBN: 9781477419717
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 462

Book Description
This book is about Jesus, about the Apostle Paul, and about the book of Revelation. I always thought that to be faithful disciple of Jesus I had to believe that after Jesus Christ we did not have to wait for any other man, nor for any other name, in order to reach salvation; but I never applied this belief to Paul of Tarsus, commonly known as the Apostle Saint Paul. Despite my Catholic Education, several times, readings of passages of the Epistles of Paul had left me with serious doubts about them, especially those involving women, civil authority and submission to ecclesiastic authorities, among others, but the sound trust that I have been taught to have in the Bible, and that I still maintain, allowed me to live with those doubts until I studied the epistles. When I did it, the love for the truth and the faithfulness to Jesus Christ, that I also have been taught to have, left me with no other option but to admit that the Epistles of Paul have many errors, vices and even teachings directly opposed to Christ's teachings; and led me to realize that Paul was a false prophet responsible for the worst errors, and vices, that the Catholic Church and the Christian Church in general have committed and fallen into. Moreover, I realized that the defeat of the worst errors and vices that threaten our present and our future depends on our faithfulness to Jesus and to the word of Jesus, which we find in the Gospels, and on the recognition of the Apostle Paul as a false prophet. In addition, when I studied the book of Revelation, I found out that the Apostle Paul is clearly pointed out as the Second Beast of the book of Revelation. Furthermore, with this piece of the Puzzle I interpreted Chapter by Chapter the book, which reveals very important things concerning the plan of God regarding the Christian Church, the recognition of Paul as a false prophet, and about the times of the Second Coming of Jesus. If you want to better understand our past, our present and our near future, you should read this book. If you are a Christian who is in love with the Gospels, who loves Christ, who wants to love him even more, and who believes that nothing is more important than to be faithful to Jesus, this book is for you.
