Book Description
A Dark Fae trying to make things right. A human girl wondering how it all went so wrong. Don’t trust the humans. It’s a new sentiment among the fae. For most of his life, the few humans he’s known have been like family. So how does their entire world want those like Gullie destroyed? The secret is out. Fae exist and the humans believe Magic threatens their way of life. The once-fringe cult that has spent years terrorizing the fae—and killing any humans that got in the way—now has the backing of governments and the media. Their goal? Keep the fae out of our world. What they really mean? Destroy them all. Gulliver refuses to give up on the communities of fae scattered across human cities. And he’ll never give up on Sophie. Whether she’s taking up residence in the queen’s lavish Iskaltian rooms, or sitting by her father’s side as he plans to annihilate the fae, Gulliver has to reach her. He has to make her see there’s another way. There might be a tail coming from his behind. His eyes might be more familiar to a cat, and he might live in a world of vanishing villages and healing waters, but all Gulliver wants is for his home to remain safe and those fae who choose to make the human world their home to have that same safety. Even if he has to lose her to hate. Even if he has to face a warzone of bombs and guns, and the destruction of every taco he holds dear. The fate of both worlds is now up to him … magicless Gulliver O’Shea. Book 11 in the Queens of the Fae series brings us closer to a conclusion of this twisty, exciting, swoony Fae love story.

The Sound of No Hands Clapping

Book Description
Young is back with the eagerly awaited follow-up to his account of a hilariously failed attempt to conquer the Manhattan social and professional scene in How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. All the elements that turned Toby's earlier memoir into a bestseller from coast to coast and on both sides of the Atlantic are back, too. Well, some things have changed for Toby-he has married his girlfriend from How to Lose Friends and Alienate People and now has two kids, and he has moved from the Manhattan that treated him none too kindly to London. But Toby remains Toby, and what Graydon Carter of Vanity Fair called Toby's "brown thumb" continues to work its magic, transforming opportunities into cringeworthy debacles and leading to situations that are classic Toby Young territory. Toby gleefully recounts such dubious journalistic assignments as posing as a patient at a penis-enlargement clinic and as a greeter at a Wal-Mart. He has misadventures in Los Angeles as a screenwriter for films that never quite get made, he's been a contestant on an abysmal reality show that absolutely no one watched, and he has acted in a one-man play that was utterly savaged by the critics. Yes, Toby has become a dutiful husband and a devoted dad, but he's as relentlessly self-sabotaging as ever, with a demonstrated knack for attracting misfortune, publicity-and devoted readers.

Book Description
Shaman's Dream: the Modoc War is a literary non-fiction account of the 1873 standoff between besieged Modoc Indians and the United States Army on the California/Oregon border. The book - a kaleidoscope of a vested interests' - draws together eye-witness accounts by settlers, military and governmental records, reports, diaries, letters, press releases, telegrams - in a narrative that is a multi-cultural evocation of one of the last of the a Indian Wars.' A new, over-zealous Superintendent of Indians for Oregon precipitated the a war' in an ill-advised attempt to corral a group of Modocs and return them to the Klamath reservation. Loss of life and the burning of the camp at Lost River was repaid by Modocs escaping to a stronghold in the lava beds, where they were besieged for months, and where they were persuaded the a Ghost Dance' would save them. The standoff between the native Americans and the United States army eventually ended, but not until peace commissioners were wounded and murdered. The Army trial of the accused ended with hangings and the exile of the tribe, subsequently to Oklahoma. President U. S. Grant's a Peace Policy' whereby Christian ministers were employed to oversee the reservations died in the aftermath of these events. But most deeply wounded of all - and more lastingly in this, some would say, inadvertently religious war - were the shamans.
