Advances in Quantum Chemistry

Advances in Quantum Chemistry PDF Author:
Publisher: Elsevier
ISBN: 008054407X
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 304

Book Description
Advances in Quantum Chemistry presents surveys of current developments in this rapidly developing field that falls between the historically established areas of mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology. With invited reviews written by leading international researchers, each presenting new results, it provides a single vehicle for following progress in this interdisciplinary area. The intention of this and the next volume in this series is to present the latest developments in the field of energy deposition as it is actually viewed by many of the major researchers working in this area. It is hard to incorporate all of the important players and all of the topics related to energy deposition in the limited space available; however the editors have tried to present the state of the art as it is now. High quality and thorough reviews of various aspects of quantum chemistry

Many-Body Methods in Quantum Chemistry

Many-Body Methods in Quantum Chemistry PDF Author: Uzi Kaldor
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 3642934242

Pages : 354

Book Description
The present volume contains the text of the invited lectures presented at the Symposium on Many Body Methods in Quantum Chemistry, held on the campus of Tel Aviv University in August 1988. The Symposium was a satellite meeting of the Sixth International Congress on Quantum Chemistry held in Jerusalem. The development and application of many-body methods in Quantum chemistry have been on the rise for a number of years. This is therefore a good time for an interim report on the state of the field. It is hoped that such a report is hereby provided, though it may not be complete. The Symposium was held under the auspices of Tel Aviv University, Raymond and Beverly Sackler Faculty of Exact Sciences, School of Chemistry. Other sponsors were the Israeli Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and the Israeli Ministry of Science and Development. Many thanks go to all of them. Finally, I would like to thank all the speakers and participants for making the meeting the enjoyable and (I hope) profitable experience it was. Chemistry for the 21st Century

Chemistry for the 21st Century PDF Author: Ehud Keinan
Publisher: John Wiley & Sons
ISBN: 3527612955
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 308

Book Description
Here, numerous winners of the Wolf prize from all chemical disciplines provide an overview of the new ideas and approaches that will shape this dynamic science over the forthcoming decades and so will have a decisive influence on our living conditions. This glimpse of the future is naturally based on the findings granted us by the rapid increase in chemical research during the 20th century. It may be said that a silent "revolution" took place, the positive results of which are still not fully predicted. For example, chemists in research laboratories nowadays are able to develop drugs in increasingly short times to treat diseases once thought incurable. They can design new materials that withstand extreme conditions, and predict the properties of compounds that no one has even seen yet. In this exceptional book those breakthroughs of modern chemistry are illustrated and explained by leading scientists. It stems from the high-quality papers given at the prestigious ceremony to accompany the presentation of the 20th Wolf Prize. It is an extraordinary source for every chemist in industry and academia to get an overview of the highlights of modern chemistry.

Ideas of Quantum Chemistry

Ideas of Quantum Chemistry PDF Author: Lucjan Piela
Publisher: Elsevier
ISBN: 0444594574
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 1272

Book Description
Ideas of Quantum Chemistry shows how quantum mechanics is applied to chemistry to give it a theoretical foundation. From the Schroedinger equation to electronic and nuclear motion to intermolecular interactions, this book covers the primary quantum underpinnings of chemical systems. The structure of the book (a TREE-form) emphasizes the logical relationships among various topics, facts and methods. It shows the reader which parts of the text are needed for understanding specific aspects of the subject matter. Interspersed throughout the text are short biographies of key scientists and their contributions to the development of the field. Ideas of Quantum Chemistry has both textbook and reference work aspects. Like a textbook, the material is organized into digestible sections with each chapter following the same structure. It answers frequently asked questions and highlights the most important conclusions and the essential mathematical formulae in the text. In its reference aspects, it has a broader range than traditional quantum chemistry books and reviews virtually all of the pertinent literature. It is useful both for beginners as well as specialists in advanced topics of quantum chemistry. An appendix on the Internet supplements this book. Presents the widest range of quantum chemical problems covered in one book Unique structure allows material to be tailored to the specific needs of the reader Informal language facilitates the understanding of difficult topics
