Excerpt from Irish Life and Humour in Anecdote and Story "Scottish Life and Character in Anecdote and Story" was received with so much favour, alike by press and public, that the author formed the idea of preparing a similar volume illustrative of the wit and humour so characteristic of the Land of the Shamrock.
