In the past twelve-month period, we have completed our experimental study of the inverse-FEL autoaccelerator. The IFEL accelerates electrons by stimulated absorption of a laser pulse passing along an electron beam in an undulator; the autoaccelerator is a configuration we have developed at Columbia to test the principle of resonant absorption and acceleration. This report discusses the progress of this research.
