La última etapa de la vida, concentra el mayor porcentaje de muertes, y ello por el aislamiento social, por enfermedades asociadas a la edad particularmente las neurodegenerativas e incapacitantes, y no olvidemos el progresivo envejecimiento de la población en países como el nuestro, España. Otro aspecto abordado es el de los denominados supervivientes, que se refiere a los familiares, que sufren problemas severos, dados los terribles sentimientos. Al respecto tenemos la aportación de un padre que nos escribe de su realidad tras el suicidio de su hija, y lo hace con el sentimiento y la razón de un hombre al que ya en esta introducción me permito explicar que admiro. Por último, el tema de los medios de comunicación y la forma de informar responsablemente también es tratado. No olvidemos que quien se suicida es uno de nosotros, y que quizás un día seamos víctimas de un sufrimiento que nos lleve a una conducta que acabe con nuestra propia vida.
