Ce travail traite du role de la psychopathologie et de l'integration sociale dans les conduites toxicomaniaques. Celles-ci ont ete abordees sous deux angles theoriques mis en perspective: une approche psychiatrique qui fait d'elles un trouble psychique et une approche socio-anthropologique qui voit dans la toxicomanie une pratique socioculturelle deviante devenue probleme social. L'integration sociale est developpee sur deux axes: d'une part le processus integration-exclusion sociale dans ses dimensions economique, relationnelle et symbolique et d'autre part le systeme des appartenances au monde conventionnel et a la sous-culture drogue. L'etude quantitative et clinique de patients sous methadone montre que l'instabilite professionnelle s'avere liee a la toxicomanie, alors que ce n'est pas le cas de l'isolement relationnel. La psychopathologie, plutot independante de la toxicomanie, est par contre un facteur puissant de desinsertion professionnelle. Une modelisation des aspects atypiques et defaillants de l'integration sociale dans leurs liens avec la toxicomanie et la psychopathologie est presentee.
