One of these, by the New Haven (conn) Bird Club, was reported to the ah nual meeting of the American Ornitholog'ists' Union in 1909, with the result that the American Bird Band ing Association was organized in New Ydrk' City on December 8, of that 'year. This association continued to advance the work (during the last few years under the auspices of the Linnaean Society of New York) until it outgrew the resources available.
