Book Description
The most important single conclusion to be drawn from this work on inorganic applications of nuclear quadrupole resonance spectroscopy is that the technique is experimentally too unreliable to allow the wise commitment of a research effort to only that technique. It is strongly felt and demonstrated, that NQR can be a particularly powerful tool in the unraveling of certain questions of electronic and molecular structure. Nevertheless there are many instances in which an expected resonance has simply not been observed, thus rendering even the best of ideas usefull 'for lack of evidence.' This is particularly true of the boron compounds related to boron high temperature polymers which were the primary area of relevance of this effort to Air Force technical requirements. (Author).

Spectroscopic Properties of Inorganic and Organometallic Compounds
Author: D. M. Adams
Publisher: Royal Society of Chemistry
ISBN: 0851861237
Category : Reference
Languages : en
Pages : 142
Book Description
Spectroscopic Properties of Inorganic and Organometallic Compounds provides a unique source of information on an important area of chemistry. Divided into sections mainly according to the particular spectroscopic technique used, coverage in each volume includes: NMR (with reference to stereochemistry, dynamic systems, paramagnetic complexes, solid state NMR and Groups 13-18); nuclear quadrupole resonance spectroscopy; vibrational spectroscopy of main group and transition element compounds and coordinated ligands; and electron diffraction. Reflecting the growing volume of published work in this field, researchers will find this Specialist Periodical Report an invaluable source of information on current methods and applications. Specialist Periodical Reports provide systematic and detailed review coverage in major areas of chemical research. Compiled by teams of leading experts in their specialist fields, this series is designed to help the chemistry community keep current with the latest developments in their field. Each volume in the series is published either annually or biennially and is a superb reference point for researchers. www.rsc.org/spr

Pulsed Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance Spectroscopy
Nuclei Zr ... Bi. Diagrams, Structure formulas, Indexes
Author: H. Chihara
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 9783540184904
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 802
Book Description
Volume III/20 of the New Series is concerned with the experimental results of nuclear quadrupole resonance spectroscopy, a standard method of structural research, applied to solid substances. The results are important for molecular and solid state physics as well as for different branches of chemistry. Because of the large amount of data, volume III/20 had to be divided into three subvolumes, III/20a,b,c, the first two of which have appeared already. Subvolume III/20c which completes the volume, is presented herewith. The main contents of the volume are data on nuclear quadrupole resonance frequency, quadrupole coupling constant, asymmetry parameter, experimental method and temperature. The tables are accompanied by structure formulas and by graphs which show the dependence of frequencies and other properties on external parameters. The formulas and the graphs are compiled in the present subvolume c. For the user's convenience, special indexes of (a) gross molecular formulas, (b) chemical substance names, and (c) CAS Registry Numbers of all substances considered are added at the end of this subvolume.
