Inertia Calculation for Single-Ended Inertia-Dynamometer Testing

Inertia Calculation for Single-Ended Inertia-Dynamometer Testing PDF Author: Brake Dynamometer Standards Committee
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 0

Book Description
This procedure provides methods to determine the appropriate inertia values for all passenger cars and light trucks up to 4540 kg of GVWR. For the same vehicle application and axle (front or rear), different tests sections or brake applications may use different inertia values to reflect the duty-cycle and loading conditions indicated on the specific test. This document has been stabilized because the committee has determined that there is no longer any customer pull for further maintenance, review, or revision.

FMVSS Inertia Dynamometer Test Procedure for Vehicles Below 4540 Kg GVWR

FMVSS Inertia Dynamometer Test Procedure for Vehicles Below 4540 Kg GVWR PDF Author: Brake Dynamometer Standards Committee

ISBN:

Pages : 0

Book Description
This document derives from the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 105 and 135 vehicle test protocols as single-ended inertia-dynamometer test procedures. The test sequences enable brake output measurement, friction material effectiveness, and corner performance in a controlled and repeatable environment. This SAE Recommended Practice (RP) also includes optional sections for parking brake output performance for rear brakes. It applies to brake corners from vehicles covered by the FMVSS 105 and 135 when using the appropriate brake hardware and test parameters. The FMVSS 135 applies to all passenger cars and light trucks up to 3500 kg of GVWR. The FMVSS 105 applies to all passenger cars, multi-purpose vehicles, buses, and trucks above 3500 kg of GVWR. This document does not include testing for school bus applications or vehicles equipped with hydraulic brakes with a GVWR above 4540 kg. This revised document takes into consideration new technologies for braking systems like (a) vacuum assist, (b) electric parking brake (EPB), and (c) regenerative braking. The inertia calculation references the latest version of the SAE J2789 to calculate the test inertia, including two methods to reflect the brake blending for the regenerative system. This revision also addresses formatting and grammatical corrections and clarifies items about FMVSS 105, FMVSS 135, or both. Other aspects of the rationale from previous revisions of this SAE Recommended Practice (RP) are still applicable.

Book Description
The need for green technologies and solutions which will deliver the energy requirements of both the developed and developing world to support sustainability and protect the environment worldwide has never been more urgent. This book contains the proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Green Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development (GEESD2021) which, due to the COVID-19 pandemic around the world and with the strict travel restrictions in China, was held as a hybrid conference (both physically and online via Zoom) in Shanghai, China on 26 and 27 June 2021. It provided an opportunity to bring together an international community of leading scientists, researchers, engineers and academics, as well as industrial professionals, to exchange and share their experiences and research results in the energy, environment and sustainable development sector. In total, 80 participants were able to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest developments in the field. GEESD2021 attracted more than 250 submissions, 88 of which were accepted after an extensive period of peer review by more than 100 reviewers and members of the program committee. These are included here, grouped into 3 sections, with 28 papers on sustainable energy; 34 on ecology; and 26 papers covering environmental pollution and protection. Offering an overview of the most up-to-date findings and technologies in the field of sustainable energy and environmental protection, the book will be of interest to all those working in this field.
