Recently a symbiotic relationship between particle and nuclear physics has developed, with techniques and ideas from one field fertilizing developments in the other. Atomic Physics 10 presents the manuscripts of the invited talks delivered at the ICAP-X. The conference continued the tradition of the earlier conferences by reviewing broad areas of fundamental atomic physics and related subjects. Non-nucleonic degrees of freedom in the nucleus must be understood in the nucleonic framework of nucleus in relation with the structure of the nucleons from which mesons are emitted to link the nucleons, and with isobars, mesonic exchange currents, and underlying conservation laws.
