In short, baseball continues to add to its legacy. While the sport renews itself continually, SABR, through it thousands of researchers, writers, and statisticians, brings back the past. It unearths new and interesting facts about the game's greatest, attempts to compare apples and oranges, argues about the merits of the chosen, and agonizes over the bases-loaded strikeout. The past few years have witnessed a great appreciation for baseball history and sabermetrics thanks to Bill James' Abstracts, the Elias Analyst, and other new publications that address an audience SABR has helped to cultivate.
