The St. Lawrence Beluga Recovery Plan was released in February 1996 and contained 56 recommendations, most of which have either already been implemented, are currently being acted upon, or have been anticipated by the different departments involved in Saint-Laurent Vision 2000. This document presents highlights of activities conducted in response to the Plan recommendations in such areas as reduction of environmental contaminants, reduce disturbances caused by human activities, and beluga population monitoring. Tables are used to list the recommendations, the accomplishments in response to those recommendations, the current and planned measures in response, and the entities responsible for implementing those accomplishments or measures.
